DescriptionPosition at Recovery Services of New Mexico Part Time Intake Coordinator Recovery Services of New Mexico is looking for a highly versatile individual to fill the position of Intake Coordinator.  An ideal candidate in this position is responsible for helping patients in accessing the required medical care that suits individual needs, assist with completion of admission, process insurance inquiries, respond to phone calls and emails, and most often will be the first-person a patient interacts with before admitted in treatment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Schedules appointments – new patient intake, annual physicals and other appointmentsInterview new patients to assure eligibility for Methadone program, collects Opiate use history and completes intake packetResponsible for collecting samples and completing rapid 12-panel drug screens.Input patient information into various systems – such as Excel/ Methasoft, New Mexico PMP and BHSD Websites.Provide Patient with information to apply for Medicaid.Records and transcribes clinical staffing notes, may assists with light clerical dutiesResponsible for keeping employee and patient emergency information up to date.Provide Superior patient services to all Patients/Visitors and answer all questions while upholding company policy and procedures while maintaining HIPAA Compliance.Faxes outgoing information including but not limited to dual enrollments and requests for information.Notifies dispensing nurse if there is a problem with payment or a client has an odd behavior prior to dosing.Responsible for receiving payment for patient, recording payment in the computer and the written daily log and giving the patient a receipt for payment.Responsible for verifying insurance eligibility information with the New Mexico Medicaid and the written daily log and giving the patient a receipt for payment.Generates Reports for Billing.Completes check in process so patient may proceed to dispensing area.Responsible for Health and Safety Binder, which includes drills, self-inspections and scheduling external inspections.Travel to all RSONM locations and trains new staff on how to complete all intake forms.Assists with chart audits, filing, and making new charts.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited secondary education institute required. Experience and knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations required.Prior experience with identifying if a patient meets criteria for admission to a program.Must be a self-starter, proactive, organized and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the willingness to learn required.Must have a detail-oriented approach and be able to maintain a high level of ownership and accuracy.Proven competency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.Adaptability in a challenging and dynamic environment; understand and work well in a matrixed organizational structure required.
