We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft, edit, and finalize estate planning, probate, and guardianship documents. The successful candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, passion for excellent client service, and desire to continuously improve efficiency. The successful candidate will also have a positive attitude, and personal or professional experience surrounding the needs of the elderly and disabled, and be a team player. If you're interested in advancing your paralegal career with opportunities for growth, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:Drafting, editing, and finalizing estate planning documents (Last Will and Testaments, Trusts, and Pleadings)Preparation of deeds and other transfer documentsPreparation of trust, probate, and guardianship accountingsPreparation of guardianship reportsClient meetings and signingsAbility to meet billable goalsQualifications:Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm settingCandidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preferenceMust have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammarExcellent work ethicOrganized time and file managementAbility to prioritize, calendar, monitor, and meet all deadlinesExcellent writing, grammar, and proofing skills with strong attention to detailExperience in tracking billable hoursExperience drafting, editing, and finalizing estate planning documents, including, but not limited to, Last Will and Testaments Trusts, and PleadingsExperience in the preparation of deeds and other transfer documentsExperience in preparation of trust, probate, and guardianship accountingsWorking knowledge of local, state, and federal rulesExperience in Medicaid/VA a plusExperience with new WA State Guardianship law preferredExperience with filing in Superior Court (including e-filing in Pierce and King Counties)Notary preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and ExcelTeam player, professional, with a pleasant, positive demeanor; andReady to hit the ground runningMust be willing to undergo a background checkAbout Company:The Law Offices of Beth McDaniel, PLLC provides legal services in the areas of Estate Planning, Probates, Guardianship, and Elder Law.
