Job summary Genera is constructing a commercial scale facility in Vonore, Tennessee that will convert agricultural fibers into pulp for sale into the market and making molded fiber products such as disposable food containers and other paper products. This position will perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. The position will work a 2-2-3 schedule. These are straight day or night 12-hour shifts (determined by availability).
Summary of essential job functions Sustains knowledge, skills and abilities required for equipment and processes assigned. Works as part of the team, communicates well with personnel at all organizational levels in a professional manner, and maintains a respectful work environment. Performs preventive maintenance of the equipment. Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes and pallets and wrapping; placing orders in delivery area Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards Open bales, crates and other containers Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory Prepare parcels for mailing Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times Wear the proper safety equipment and participate in quality and safety audits Minimum requirements High School diploma or GED Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills Dependable and Reliable Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required In order to be considered for this position candidates are required to submit an application for employment through our career site and willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. Experience required 2 years plant manufacturing or similar experience or equivalent demonstration. Experience should include liquid and dry unit operations such as pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, evaporation, material handling, and etc. Chemical processing is desired. Pulp & Paper experience is a plus.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to talk and/or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch and push or pull on objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will require the use of safety equipment and clothing, including eye and hearing protection, hard hats, and respiratory protection and safety shoes. Where noise levels exceed allowable limits, hearing protection is required and provided.
