Under the direction of the Director of Administrative Operations at EMYL, the Program Supervisor II is responsible for handling the day-to-day operations and logistics of the East Mountain Youth Lodge (EMYL) residential milieus. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, developing and disciplining of direct care staff. The Program Supervisor ensures that all necessary documentation and procedures are in compliance with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and DCF/CSOC licensing/accreditation standards.
*The schedule will be either Sunday-Wednesday 10:30pm to 9:00am or Sunday-Thursday 10:45pm to 7:15am.
A day in the life of a Program Supervisor II at Hackensack Meridian  Health  includes:
1. Responsible for the interviewing and hiring of EMYL direct care staff and participates in recruitment events and endeavors as needed.
2. Supervises and oversees the orientation and training of all Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders and Senior Shift leaders. Works closely with and trains all staff to adhere to the Lodge's mission and policies, works to maintain and enhance competencies of staff.
3. Works closely with the EMYL Staffing Coordinator to help oversee that there is adequate staff coverage on a 24 hour basis. Provides input on the handling of staff PTO requests in weekly meetings with the Staffing Coordinator.
4. Provides direct supervision to the direct care staff focusing on guidance and growth as well as providing progressive discipline when needed. Works to engage staff by utilizing the concept of Employee Rounding.
5. Assists in budgeting and tracking of line item expenditures and in PCH Homes responsible for managing a pre-approved food budget and works with residents and staff at planning, shopping and preparing all meals.
6. Responsible for maintaining petty cash and allowance ledgers and the funds associated with both.
7. Responsible for the charting and tracking of residents' clothing money and arranging shopping trips for residents and reconciling receipts and funds according to finance protocols.
8. Runs at least one Group meeting per week. Provides feedback on the group component of the program, helps develop a comprehensive group format. Participates in Community Meetings and/or Support Groups for residents and/or families.
9. Responsible for ensuring the timely collection and accuracy of the midnight census reports.
10. Runs weekly leadership team meetings and monthly staff meetings.
11. Responsible for handling all resident grievances.
12. Participates in resident treatment meetings or emergency meetings as needed.
13. Assists with Referral/Admissions activities as needed.
14. Maintains an on-call status (Level 3) for one week intervals throughout the year in rotation to respond to urgent staff needs or shortages.
15. Participates in the annual performance evaluations of the Residential Counselors, Shift Leaders and Senior Shift leaders.
16. May be required to work and supervise various other shifts (evenings, overnights, weekends) as program needs require.
17. Acts as the Service Leader (100% dedicated to the appropriate program) on the Department of Children and Families/Children System of Care Contract for the PCH Programs (Lotus, Sunflower), IRTS (Swan), BHSU (Wolf) or RTC Program.
18. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
19. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Master's degree in a clinical field.
2. Minimum 3 years post M.A. experience (at least one year of which shall be in a supervisory capacity).
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Minimum of 2 years working with adolescents in a similar environment.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. AHA HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED Certification, or completed within the first 90 days of employment.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
1. LSW, LCSW, LAC or LPC.
2. In the BHSU Program CADC or LCADC or similar experience in addiction treatment.
