$19 - $20 SOUTH CONGRESS HOTEL is hiring for an OVERNIGHT BAKER The living room for the neighborhood, South Congress Hotel is an 83-room boutique hotel designed to be a hub of activity for the community. A place for travelers and locals alike, the hotel has three restaurants, a coffee + bakeshop, rooftop pool, award-winning Lobby Bar, and two retail spaces, in addition to a range of community events + programming open to all. All locally owned, all right at the doorstep of Austin's favorite street.
JOB OVERVIEW The South Congress Hotel Pastry Team executes all pastry-related items across the property. Our outlets include Cafe No Se, Manana Coffee and Bakeshop, the pool, and our large events program. If you like working in a highly organized, clean, and creative kitchen, this is the place!
Who you are: You are a hard-working creative with a strong eye for detail. You have the patience it takes to make intricate pastries and plate beautiful desserts. You know the enjoyment of a dish comes before a single bite is ever taken it is the presentation, history, detail, and story first.
What you'll learn: Modernized pastry technique, teamwork, moving with purpose, efficiency, accountability, the creative process from conception to finished product, pastry management, sourcing and inventory, teamwork, and leadership.
