Provides administrative and technical support to an ophthalmologist in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities
• Maintains patient records and schedules appointments in IDX.• Answers phones, greets patients, verifies correct billing information and prepares chart for office visit.• Assists with the clinical work up of patients, including visual acuity, applanation pressures, history, keratometry, autorefraction, color vision, stereopsis and EYESYS.• Instructs patient in the proper care and insertion/removal of contact lenses.• Modifies and/or polishes contacts.• Maintains inventory of materials and cleans instruments.• Maintains examination rooms and supplies.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.• Two years of experience working in a medical office.• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
