Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is currently seeking an Operations Training Superintendent to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Manages the execution of all Operations training programs, provides overall direction, planning and performance of Operations training group activities to ensure achievement of goals, and integrates Operations training activities into plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, efficient operation.   JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Provides organizational guidance, direction, leadership, and planning for Operations training related activities. Routinely interfaces with the Operations manager to explore opportunities for leveraging training solutions to improve operator performance. An ideal candidate at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory (SAT/TSD). Ensures compliance and maintenance of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process. Identifies training needs, contract support, and oversight for training departmental corrective action, training, projects, and work activities as related to Operations training.   Works effectively with the management team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving operational leadership. Establishes an environment that fosters a strong safety culture and ensures training reinforces these principles in all training settings. Gathers data, makes recommendations and decisions for complex problems. Has strong oral and written communication skills, strong management and leadership skills, and strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.  Ensures compliance with applicable requirements, regulations, procedures, and specifications. Supports station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and other projects. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Previous nuclear training supervisor/superintendent or line owner (Operations) of an accredited training program. Familiarity with license operator training programs and requirements. Familiarity with INPO Academy Documents (ACADs), accreditation maintenance process, and accreditation objectives and criteria. Complete knowledge, understanding and application of SAT/TSD instructional theory. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of Operations training programs and implement appropriate interventions to correct challenges. Hold or have held, a Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) license (preferably). Minimum education required of the position:  
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering or other scientific discipline associated with power plant operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related. Minimum experience required of the position:  
Four years previous experience as a supervisor; with eight years of commercial nuclear power plant training or operations experience.   Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position: Awareness and understanding of federal regulations associated with initial and continuing license operator training, simulator testing and fidelity, and NRC examination development. Broad technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Established relationships with the NRC and INPO.   Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position:  
SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.   ANSI Required: No
