Position Summary: The Operations Business Analyst will be responsible for accounting, configuring, troubleshooting for our MGA/MGU Agency management system and participating in special projects to continually improve our processes and services standards.
Essential Functions: Coordinate with Management, Accounting and IT resources to streamline and automate department processes Collaborate with the Premium Accounting team to effectively manage accounting policies, controls and procedures Creates or modifies complex Excel spreadsheets and Word documents incorporated into the agency management system. Develop and track Key Performance Indicators that accurately reflect current operational state Build and maintain trend analysis that can preemptively forecast future business needs Provide administrative support and review opportunities to improve user instructions on various MGA/MGU systems Creates MGA/MGU system driven reporting, both ad hoc and for regular use. Specify, document, and test additions and modifications to the system including troubleshooting application errors and user issues. In conjunction with users' issues, isolate problems, determine solutions or alternatives, and develop and implement a resolution. Identify and initiate projects and process improvements in all department automation endeavors included but not limited and training on various MGA/MGU system Collaborate successfully with underwriters and underwriting assistants and back office departments for situational resolution Attend project meetings and fulfill project objectives in a timely manner Education/Experience/Skills: Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four year college required except in extraordinary cases, extensive insurance experience required Ability to apply a broad knowledge of accounting principles to a variety of accounting activities ranging from daily transactions to detailed analysis Ability to learn and apply comprehensive insurance knowledge to resolve or assist in the resolution of both underwriting and accounting operational issues Accounting or Agency management systems / insurance industry experience strongly desired Strong written and verbal communication skills, decision making abilities and leadership capabilities Focus on fostering an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and customer service Strong MS Excel skills. Strong MS Access and Project skills a plus. Attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity. Able to work independently and juggle multiple projects and clients.
