About the OpportunityThe Operational Data Specialist/Testing Liaison will serve as a key member of the school team and will be responsible for identifying short and long-term data needs/goals and reporting strategies across the organization with special focus on student engagement, earned credits and graduation rate.They also work with the regional team in the planning and implementation of all Ohio required assessments (EOC, STAR, ACT and any CTE required tests) in alignment with the philosophy and policies adopted by the school, and the state board of education, as well as the provisions of law, and the directives of the school leadership team. 
As the Operational Data Specialist you will support the following:
Works closely with staff and stakeholders across the organization to gather and distribute dataProvides in-depth analysis and reports in support of key education related decisions and goalsConsults with staff and stakeholders to develop technology solutions in response to educational and operational needs, works closely with colleagues to accurately quantify issues in terms of data to problem-solve more effectivelyCollaborates with organizational and school level team leaders to develop and oversee training and implementation of processes that maximum operational efficiency and meet internal and external requirementsMakes recommendations on the selection and implementation of new systemsAnalyzes data with standard statistical methods, interprets the results, and provides written summary of analyses, shares knowledge of analysis techniques and data coding with othersCommunicates and collaborates with school team in discussing business intelligence needs and functional requirementsAssists in gathering and presenting data needed for new school development opportunitiesCollaborates with stakeholders to design and develop statistical analyses which address projected research questions; conducts research and collects data that helps to develop products and meet school needsParticipates in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, study design, methodology, and data analysis; identifies, develops, and proposes alternative data metricsCollaborates with the leadership team on the creation of a school-wide data governance plan and data management policies and proceduresMonitors and analyzes data from various assessment and instructional systemsCreates and maintains dashboards, trackers, and various data visualizations for assessment and instructional data to inform the work of teachers and administratorsSupports teachers with actionable data to inform classroom instructionWorks with the school team to create and implement data based instructional plansTrains and supports teachers in data literacy and data driven instructional practicesSupports teacher data meetingsMaintain necessary accounts with the Department of Education and other testing vendorsMaintain an accurate student database of assigned assessments and student accommodationsTrack and plan for all students requiring make-up testingInitiate and maintain relationships with sites and venues, navigate bookings and agreements to arrange for testing sites for all necessary State TestsOrder all applicable tests and materialsAssist with resolving data issues that arise from internal corporate or state auditsAssist State Reporting Staff with compiling all testing data for reportingManage distribution of student result reports to familiesCoordinate communications for staff and families with respect to testingCreate and facilitate virtual and in-person staff training regarding test security and best practices in test administrationProvide reports along with continuous feedback to managementCoordinate communications for staff and families with respect to testingCreate, distribute, and manage testing site staffing plans and assignmentsCoordinate distribution and collection of testing materialsWork with the SWD and 504 Coordinator to identify and facilitate student accommodations, including extended-time testingAttend all professional development offered by the district regarding updating and maintaining information in the district's databases and testingImport all state test scores into Student Information System (SIS)Craft professional, respectful, and courteous communication for a variety of stakeholdersPerform all other job duties as assignedAbout YouOhio residencyBachelor's degree in Data Science, Education, Computer Science, Math, or a related field2+ years of data extraction, analysis, and reporting experience in an educational settingExperience with online learning preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products required.Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality.Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethicAbility to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicatedDemonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and /or school welfareExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistentlyCustomer service orientedAbility to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team membersAbility to work independently and contribute to a teamExperience synthesizing data for accountability reportsDemonstrated Project Management SkillsStrong Organizational and prioritization skills along with the ability to meet concurrent deadlinesAbility to work with a high degree of accuracyAbility to communicate well with stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience creating and maintaining structured datasetsFamiliarity with advanced Excel functions including Power QueryAbility and willingness to travel to testing sites within the statePrevious experience with testing administration in K-12 schools preferredAbility to work independently and contribute to a teamAbility to lift 25 lbs.Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI) About Us"We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances." – Ron Packard, CEO & Founder
