Operating Engineer

specializing in HVAC and Chiller Plant operations

, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as chiller systems. This role requires a Universal Refrigeration License.

Responsibilities

Operation and Monitoring:
Operate and monitor HVAC systems, including chillers, pumps, fans, and associated equipment to ensure proper functioning
Monitor temperature, pressure, and other relevant parameters to maintain optimal system performance
Perform regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify issues or potential problems

Maintenance and Repair:
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacement, lubrication, and cleaning to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficiency
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in HVAC and chiller systems, and perform necessary repairs promptly

Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations, including those related to handling refrigerants and operating machinery
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Participate in safety training sessions

Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to emergency situations such as equipment failures, leaks, or power outages to minimize downtime and ensure safety
Take appropriate measures to mitigate risks and restore normal operations as quickly as possible
Collaborate with other team members during emergency response efforts

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Universal Refrigerant License
4+ years of relevant O&M experience (i.e. chillers, water treatment, cooling towers, gas fired equipment, etc.)
Proven experience troubleshooting, testing, and repairing HVAC & chiller systems
Knowledge of power plant mechanical & electrical systems
