Job Description SummaryThe 1st Shift Operations Leader will serve as a key leader of an exciting manufacturing team in our Gas Power Schenectady facility. This is a core manufacturing leadership position responsible for the delivery of Onshore Wind Turbine equipment to a global customer base in a critical time for GE Vernova.The Operations Leader will lead and supervise a 1st shift team of hourly production workers as well as technicians in the successful execution of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the ability to solve technical issues, balance multiple complex priorities and effectively motivate a diverse, high performing team.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Responsible for departmental operations planning, execution, oversight, and management of front-line manufacturing employees.Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.Applies Lean Manufacturing principles to drive consistent output and process improvements.Presents to internal teams on critical metrics, project status and planning details.Creates an environment of respect and trust among the team and ensures open lines of communication for the identification and resolution of both technical and personnel issues.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and a mentor for 2nd shift Operations Leaders and production team. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.Requirements:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 4 years manufacturing experience).3 years of manufacturing experience.Eligibility Requirements:Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.Desired CharacteristicsEngineering or Management Degree.Leadership or Influencing experience.Experience working in a Union environment.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.Established project management skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
