Job Description:
The Industry Liaison Officer will assist in identifying and recruiting Center members, and building and maintaining industry relationships. In addition, the Industry Liaison Officer will support the Site Directors and IAB with strategic planning, project coordination, technology transfer activities, media production and project selection. This position will be supported by the NSF IUCRC award received by the Lead Site.
Job Responsibilities:
45% Support the Site Directors and IAB with all CISIA activities, including: 1) Interim Reports; 2) Lunch and Learn Engagements, 3) Member Updates; 4) Semi-Annual Meetings (Fall Planning Meeting, IAB Meetings, Spring Center Meeting); 5) Project Selection Announcements and 6) CISIA media development (videos, press releases, highlights and website updates). Provide support as required to the ALT and APC committees.
35% Lead activities targeted at maintaining current industry members as well as recruting new CISIA partners by networking and actively seeking opportunities for industrial participation in research as well as educational center activities. Work to retain and increase interaction with industry partners as well as encouraging and supporting faculty to better engage with industry. Facilitate student/industry relationships through internships, student participation in joint projects with industry, fellowships, seminars, career planning, etc.
10% Support the financial planning, allocation and tracking of all CISIA accounts, including financial contributions from industry partners. Help in preparing annual operating and research budget and project status and operations report for the members and NSF.
10% Work with the Center Director in developing/implementing a Technology Transfer Strategic plan for the center. Work with the Tech Transfer Offices at the core universities in filing disclosures, technology transfer and licensing agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, 20 years of industry research and development experience, specifically in research areas of structural integrity, structural analysis, advanced manufacturing, sensors, and process control methodology. Experience in project planning, technical event coordination, scheduling and project management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering and 30 years ofindustry research and development experience, specifically in research areas of structural integrity, structural analysis, advanced manufacturing, sensors, and process control methodology. Experience in project planning, technical event coordination, scheduling and project management.
