Job Description and Duties Under direction of the Human Resources Manager (SSM III), the incumbent serves as the receptionist for the Human Resources Office (HRO) and provides clerical support to HRO staff.
This position is required to follow instructions and work under pressure to meet deadlines. The incumbent is required to have a general knowledge of various office machines; be familiar with departmental policies, procedures and style guidelines; be accurate and thorough; exercise a high degree of initiative, independence of action and originality; demonstrate tact and good judgment; communicate effectively; develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships; easily adapt to changing priorities; work as part of a team; and maintain regular and consistent attendance.

Special Requirements The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website. Finance operates under a hybrid telework model, which requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of two days during the workweek. The hybrid policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required at management's discretion or based on operational needs. Current state employees must indicate on their application their current civil service classification, NOT working titles.
