The Oregon Department of Shipping Point Inspection Program and Market Access and Certification Programs is currently recruiting for an Office Specialist 2 position.
What you'll be doing
As the Office Specialist 2 (Timekeeper) you will review departmental time cards to ensure employee's time is accurately recorded and complete.
Communicate with multiple managers regarding errors, revisions, leave balance discrepancies, missing documents.
Organize and track time/ absence records to assure receipt and processing for all current staff members.
Data entry of all time and absence documents into appropriate Workday time and absence sections.
Communicate with managers, staff, human resources, and payroll.
The Office Specialist 2 (Timekeeper) is a part-time 15-month Limited Duration position, there is NOT an option for remote or hybrid work for this position, this position is Monday through Friday but may include weekends depending based on agency needs. This position is in Hermiston, Oregon.

What we're looking for:
Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
What we are looking for (Desired Attributes):
Skill in performing a variety of clerical functions.
Skill in communicating orally and in writing with a variety of people, answering questions and gathering and exchanging information.
Skill in organizing work efficiently and exercising independent judgment in making appropriate decisions concerning work methods.
Skill in applying specific, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to work performed.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to remain objective and analyze a problem from multiple angles before coming to a conclusion.
Focus on providing excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Demonstrated work experience in Microsoft Office.
Additional Requirements
The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for entering timekeeping data into the computer in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy of entries. It is essential this position have extensive knowledge of the computer data base and applied codes. Strong teamwork skills are a requirement for this position.
