Job summary
MedStar Health Research Institute is seeking an experienced research professional to join as Office of Research Integrity AdministratorResponsible for administrative and analytical analysis of research protocolsActs as a resource for investigators, staff, and administrators in research activities
Job seniority: associate level
Responsibilities
• Perform administrative functions related to the regulatory and ethical review process for regulatory committees overseen by ORI• Independently review research protocols submitted to regulatory committees• Check for completeness and compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements and MHRI policies• Assist investigators, staff, and administrators in preparation and performance of research activities• Facilitate open communication between researchers, Office of Research Integrity, and regulatory committees• Assure timely review and processing of protocols in accordance with federal regulations and ORI SOPs
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred• CIP certification and 3 years direct experience with IRB/IACUC or other research administration environment required• 3-4 years of directly related research administration experience required• Working knowledge of research and medical terminology and IRB regulations required• Understanding of ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements for protection of human subjects in research• Knowledge of animal welfare act, laboratory animal care guidelines, and NIH guidelines preferred• CIP (Certified IRB Professional) certification required within 12 months from date of hire
