Our agency is looking to fill a full-time, permanent Office Assistant (OA3) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division. This position works for the Spokane Community Justice Center located at 715 East Sprague Ave, Spokane WA 99202. This position supports the DOC Mission by providing general office support for the Spokane Community Justice Center (CJC) staff, to include the Community Corrections Supervisor, Secretary Supervisor, Assignment Officer and Community Corrections Officers. The support provided by this position enables staff of the Spokane CJC to conduct efficient and effective management of their caseloads. Incomplete application packages or 'see resume' in lieu of the requested information may disqualify you from the process. Duties Clerical for Assignment Officer. Organize all sentencing documents and assign DOC numbers, if needed, into Offender Managment Network Information (OMNI) computer system. Pull accompanying police reports for all sentencing documents to include Judgement and Sentence, Pre-Sentence Investigations, Victim Witness Investigations, Residential and Prison Drug Offender Sentencing Alternatives (DOSAs), Special Sex Offender Sentencing Alternatives (SOSSAs), Family and Offender Sentencing Alternatives (FOSAs). Communicate regularly with Assignment Officer to provide appropriate assistance as required. Manage front desk reception. Lock/unlock main office doors each day at 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Manage a multi-line phone system. Greet and direct clients, general public, and/or stakeholders to the appropriate staff. Other duties as assigned. Support other DOC units during clerical absence as requested. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Six months of clerical and/or customer service experience. And maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license. **One year of college-level coursework will substitute for the clerical experience above. The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities: Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Must respect and maintain confidentiality. Ability to assist individuals with various criminal backgrounds. Ability to multitask by answering questions from staff and visitors at the same time. Perform basic arithmetic calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Willing and able to move or relocate objects weighing approximately 25 lbs. Ability to proofread written material by identifying and correcting errors in sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Willing and able to report policy violations and/or any facts that may compromise the integrity of the work unit, to the supervisor immediately. Desired Qualifications Two years clerical experience to include basic level proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and Excel. Experience with operating a multi-line phone system. Front counter or reception experience. Supplemental Information Vision: Working together for safer communities.
