The United Staff Group is in search of an Occupational Therapist ready to commence in June. If you're passionate and eager, come join our diverse team. We need an experienced Occupational Therapist to collaborate with us in enhancing the lives of our students by facilitating skill development. The role involves providing therapeutic programs and interventions, focusing on sensory processing, motor skills, and community outings. The perfect fit will possess excellent organizational and managerial abilities, coupled with a genuine affinity for our student population.

Duties: Attend weekly group supervision meetings and offer consultation/training to school staff throughout the week. Introduce new staff, students, and their families to the occupational therapy components of our program. Conduct diagnostic assessments. Prepare reports and present information, test results, diagnoses, and recommendations in meetings in a manner easily comprehensible to the team (including families) and, when appropriate, the student. Deliver individual and small group therapy sessions. Develop sensory profiles and intervention plans. Utilize interventions in both classroom and sensory room settings to teach awareness and regulation. Collaborate with our team to support students experiencing distress or dysregulation. Assess the effectiveness of therapeutic programs and adjust them as needed for individual students. Document progress notes, Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, benchmarks, and progress reports for speech therapy components of the IEP. Stay updated on professional development related to current trends in the field. Work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team. Requirement: Master's of Occupational Therapy OT/R national licensure Licensed in the state of Massachusetts as an occupational therapist Knowledge and experience with a variety of assessment instruments, including administration, scoring, and interpretation Knowledge and experience with students who have autism spectrum disorders and various mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, Tourette's, etc.) Desire to keep abreast of current information on various diagnoses and treatment methods through professional development Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills & experience with being a team player Strong empathy and understanding of both students who have disabilities and parents who have children with disabilities Excellent critical thinking, written, and verbal skills Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses Joining our team as an Occupational Therapist offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while advancing your career in a school setting.
