In coordination with the overall efforts of the Environmental Health & Safety Department (EH&S), the Occupational Health Program Coordinator works under the direction of the Occupational Health Manager to implement the comprehensive program to provide occupational health services to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) workforce members.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Responsibility primarily includes partnering with internal and external stakeholders to optimize modified duty and return to work processes for employees following injury as well as general administrative support to the Occupational Health program. The program coordinator follows departmental policies and procedures and works under the direction of the Occupational Health Manager.
JOB DUTIES Serve as a liaison between the employee, medical providers, WA State Labor and Industries, Occupational Health, human resources and benefits partners regarding workplace injuries and worker's compensation claims. Complete professional and thorough documentation for all accident and injury reports in employee health record. Ensure timely communication and continuity for administrative components of workers compensation claims. Assist stakeholders with identifying modified duty assignments to facilitate an injured employee's return-to-work. Develop modified duty assignment descriptions for injured/ill employees and support stakeholders as they implement and monitor modified duty assignments. Communicates and supports employees in a professional and empathetic manner. Data entry of Occupational Health records as required. Follows organizational policies and compliance with confidentiality of Occupational Health records and employee medical records. Other administrative duties as assigned that may include but are not limited to Occupational Health front desk coverage, email and phone management, printing and stocking forms, support of Occupational Health programs and record-keeping, providing information related to occupational health programming as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required  Six years of progressively complex administrative experience Computer skills: Confidence in learning various software systems and data platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with MS Teams, OneDrive and Outlook preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate stakeholders to take required actions. Interest in working in a data driven and collaborative environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to produce high-quality work products. Strong personal initiative, learning focus, attention to detail and organizational skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with healthcare industry and terminology and/or experience working with healthcare data. Familiarity with (Occupational) Health and Safety terminology and/or experience working with workplace safety data. Experience working with worker's compensation claims in Washington State, or other jurisdictions. The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
