Responsibilities
• Interview and process eligible households for rental assistance and affordable housing programs• Verify income, assets, expenses, and dwelling information• Assist applicants with housing options and referrals to other agencies• Conduct briefings to explain program rules and regulations• Help participants find satisfactory units and resolve housing-related problems• Prepare necessary forms and finalize agreements between tenants, owners, and the Housing Authority• Maintain participant contact and ensure timely submission of necessary documents• Perform annual reexaminations and compute rent changes• Assist with Portability requests• Maintain accurate records and resolve program abuse allegations
Requirements
• Completion of two (2) years of college in public administration, business administration, or related discipline• Two (2) years of experience or equivalent• Successful completion of the HCVP Specialist course within six (6) months of hire• Obtain a passing score on the HCVP Specialist Certification Exam within one (1) year of hire• Valid driver's license with a good driving record• Occasional travel to offsite locations
