The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will report directly to the Nurse Director of Inpatient Surgery. The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will be required to provide daily updates regarding the status of the operating room to the Nurse Director of the Inpatient Surgery and work together with their superior to ensure all safety regulations and policies are being met. The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will be a direct supervisor to the Assistant Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery and must be readily available to assist in any critical situation that may arise. Overseeing a team of Inpatient Surgery Nurses, the Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will serve as a leader and the face of the Inpatient Surgery Team to guarantee each patient treated in their OR are receiving the safest, cleanest, and high-quality care.
The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will be required to manage and provide direct oversight to the operating room that perform various and complex clinical procedures. The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery must hold their BSN and ideally hold their CNOR certification. Equipped with cutting-edge technology within their operating room, the Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery will be required to be well-versed in any and all surgical equipment utilized within their operating rooms. This individual will have 24/7 coverage of the operating rooms and must be easily accessible to offer their guidance and subject matter expertise. The Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgery must be well-versed regarding the care being administered within the operating rooms, and must be able to highlight their team's strengths, and also pinpoint any weaknesses and provide the necessary training to address any matter.
