Position Overview: IB3 Global Solutions is looking for a talented nuclear engineer to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in advancing our national security missions and achieving key program goals.
Essential Job Functions & Duties: Perform gamma/neutron radiation transport studies to model the response of various radiation detection systems. Design, build, and test novel sensor systems with laboratory-developed detection algorithms. Perform test and measurement experiments to characterize sensor performance. Develop data analysis tools in Python, Matlab, Root, or similar languages. Develop data acquisition systems for tailored applications. Write technical reports summarizing R&D efforts. Conceive of and contribute to R&D proposals for new work. Lead and collaborate on projects at low and mid Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). Stay up-to-date with advancements in nuclear engineering and related fields. *Salary varies based on skills, degree, and clearance Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience in nuclear engineering or a related role. Strong knowledge of nuclear physics, reactor theory, and radiation protection. Experience with computer simulations and modeling for nuclear systems. Proficient in using nuclear engineering software and tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to obtain a DOE Q-clearance and work at a government facility. Preferred Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering. 5+ years of experience in nuclear engineering or a related role. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with nuclear fuel cycle and waste management. Knowledge of nuclear safety analysis and risk assessment. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and codes for nuclear systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks. Proactive and self-motivated mindset. Existing active DOE Q clearance Working Conditions: On-site operational environment with normal 8hr/day, 5-day work week. Schedule may vary depending on project requirements. Some remote work may be available. Some flex time may be available within the pay period (semi-monthly). Some travel may be required to client sites. Physical Requirements: No more than 25 lbs. of occasional lifting required.
