Position Summary We are seeking a Part-time Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Crest in Brooklyn Center, MN! The Maintenance Technician will work as part of a maintenance team supporting all aspects of the physical operations of our apartment communities that includes the responsibility to ensure that Aeon standards are met in each of the following areas: preventative maintenance, safety and security, physical condition, market appeal, customer service promises, and utility conservation standards. This position will also support the general upkeep of the property including regular trash removal and trash chute management. The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Site Manager.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair functions including:
Plumbing Electrical Appliance repair Air handler and general HVAC maintenance Lock changes Apartment turnovers Preventative maintenance Installation and repair of window coverings, doors, cabinets, light fixtures, etc; Regular trash chute maintenance and management Regular Inside/outside debris removal Seasonal duties: light snow removal, salting/sanding Skills & Qualifications Must have knowledge and experience in general maintenance. Availability to work Saturdays. Ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations. Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Must be a resourceful, problem solving, relationship-building, seeker of excellence. Possess a prideful work ethic and be a team player . Possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance. Own basic tools. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to complete daily tours between properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, common areas, hallways, stairwells, and apartment homes. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to reach above and below the shoulders. Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull. Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather. Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property. Compensation, Work Hours, & Location This part-time hourly position offers $23-$25/hr. This position offers 20 hours per week and must include a shift on Saturdays. Ideally this position would work 5 days per week, 4 hours per day, but we are flexible with this breakdown of hours and days as long as it includes Saturdays. Work hours would fall between 8am-6pm. O ur Maintenance Technician positions have NO On-Call! This is an in-person position and will work mostly out of The Crest. Occasional work at Aeon's Central Office, training facilities and other properties will occur from time to time.
