Network Systems Design Engineer Iii

Job SummaryAs a Network Systems Engineer at Aetos Systems, the candidate will contribute to the development of network design packages, implementation, testing, reliability, and operational engineering for multiple Kennedy Space Center (KSC) network systems including Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet, Optical Transport Network (OTN), T-Carrier, and fiber optics.  Additionally, the candidate will also participate in laboratory analysis and testing of new equipment and configurations.This is a represented salaried position with the IBEW Union. Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsible for engineering for the following network switch types: ethernet-based distribution switches (Juniper and Transition Networks) and Ciena carrier ethernet-based core switches.  Research and define "off the shelf" solutions supporting system development.Work closely with customers and Product Teams to ensure system requirements are met.Develop precise material and labor estimates to fulfill project requirements.Procure materials and components that align with system specifications.Maintain communication with Manufacturers and Suppliers to meet project deadlines.Coordinate with Drafting team members to create and update detailed system drawings.Oversee the development and execution of component and system Acceptance Test Procedures, Functional Test Procedures, and Operational Instructions.Provide timely solutions to emergent issues as they arise.Execute work under general supervision.
