Network Management Engineer - Solarwinds

Summary:
1 Source is looking for a Network Management Engineer - Solarwinds to work collaboratively with other contractors and federal staff at the Department of Energy (DOE. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Designing, developing, and deploying a fault and performance network management system that provides the required trouble isolation and identification required for the applications
-Identifying deficiencies in existing Network Management platforms and proposing solutions that mediate these problems. May include identification of COTS platforms that are currently not deployed
-Providing customizations to existing Network Management implementations to reduce the interval from the identification of a fault to problem resolution
-Supports the integration of multiple COTS vendor products into a seamless operation for a given Cloud Deployment Model (SaaS, PaaS, laaS)
-Integration of multiple COTS vendor products into a seamless operation for Network Operations
-Knowledge transfer to individuals charged with maintaining the environment being monitored by the Network Management solution
-May perform other duties as required
Education and Years of Experience:
-Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
-5+ years of experience in Network Management platforms
-Knowledge of one or more flavors of Unix and leading hardware vendors' products on which the Network Management platform would run
Required Skills:
-Implement, upgrade, configure network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
-Define requirements to design/redesign and deploy Heterogeneous Network Environments (Cloud Computing Network & On-Premises)
-Experience managing and monitoring Cisco and Juniper platforms
-Experience managing and monitoring Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, GovCloud, C2S)
-Experience automating monitoring and reporting
-Support the analysis and recommendations for the continuous improvement of cloud network and security
-Experience troubleshooting complex layer 2 and layer 3 issues
-Project Management tracking tools such as JIRA
-COMSEC Monitoring/Inventory Tools such as GEM-X and GENOME
-Comply with configuration management, change management, and other policy management documentation requirements
Clearance Requirements:
-Top Secret security clearance or DOE "Q" clearance is required
-TS/SCI security clearance is strongly preferred
