Position Summary

The Network Engineer role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and managing our organization's computer networks and related security. In addition, the role will ensure efficient and secure flow of data and communication across various systems within the organization.

Job Location : 825 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, WI 54911

Work Schedule: Hybrid remote schedule available after the initial training period and as business needs allow. This role primarily works 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
Leads design, configuration and administration of all network infrastructure including wired, wireless, and site connectivity.
Manages firewalls and overall network security including LAN segmentation.
Monitors health and performance of network, investigates problems and outages to resolution.
Creates and maintains network related documentation, including scopes of work, diagrams, processes, and test plans.
Implements and provides guidance related to processes and security policies while Incorporating security best practices in network design implementation.
Takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, communicates, and when necessary, directs inside and outside resources to resolve problems.
Identify inadequacies, inefficiencies, and problems with recommended solutions.
Consults with vendors regarding system functionality, upgrades, and maintenance.
Responds as required or requested on a 24/7 on-call basis to support the organization.
Other duties, as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills 10+ years overall IT experience, along with 5+ years in a Network Engineering role.
Hands on knowledge working with Extreme Networks (Extreme Switching, Wi-Fi, Extreme Cloud IQ).
Solid understanding of firewall policies (Check Point experience preferred.)
Understanding of Network Access Control (NAC), Radius, 802.1x, AD, LDAP, DNS.
Experience creating and administering VMware virtual networks.
Working knowledge of low voltage data cabling and fiber optic design.
Working technical knowledge in network design and segmentation. (Illumio experience a plus)
Working knowledge managing and deploying enterprise wireless technologies.
Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed promptly.
Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
