Golf Course in Salt Lake City, Utah is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Job Description and Duties:
•Management and motivation of Golf Maintenance Team
•Daily scheduling of Golf Maintenance Team to achieve championship playing conditions.
•All irrigation repair, watering techniques and nightly irrigation programming
•Proper use of spray and fertilizer equipment, rate determinations and calibration techniques
•Golf course construction principle, methods, and practices.
•Expand upon current knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices.
•Develop strong working relationships with the management team and staff to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
•Take an active role in daily operations, including crew scheduling, course setup, irrigation system maintenance, and application of plant protectants and fertilizers.

Completion of a 2- or 4-year degree program in turf management, providing a comprehensive understanding of turf care principles and practices
Demonstrated proficiency gained from 1-3 years of hands-on experience working specifically within the context of golf course maintenance
Capacity and willingness to obtain a pesticide applicator's license, indicating competence in the safe and responsible handling of chemicals used in turf management
Thorough understanding of the game of golf, including familiarity with course layout, playing conditions, and golfer expectations, enhancing the ability to contribute effectively to course maintenance strategies.
Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience working within golf course maintenance.
Compensation:
$62,000 – $65,000 per year.
