Responsibilities:
A Typical Day:
In the role of Real Estate Tax Manager/Senior Manager, your day might include:
- Providing tax advisory services to clients within the real estate sector, focusing on technical guidance, consulting, and compliance.
- Acting as a key resource, coordinating with internal stakeholders and clients across all phases of tax engagements, with a particular focus on complex real estate taxation issues.
- Keeping up-to-date with legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments in real estate tax.
- Managing and delivering client projects, including the review and analysis of client data, preparation of necessary calculations, supporting documentation, and IRS filings.
- Contributing to thought leadership through articles, technical training, and webinars.
- Developing business by nurturing existing client relationships and participating in professional organizations.
- Ensuring high performance on assigned projects within set budgets and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Who You Are:
- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a Master's in Tax or J.D. with LL.M. is preferred.
- You possess a valid CPA license, Enrolled Agent license, or J.D.
- You bring at least 7 years of tax experience with a focus on the real estate industry.
- Your background includes advising real estate owners, developers, and investors, including REITs, real estate funds, and private entities.
- Your expertise covers a range of real estate transactions, including like-kind exchanges and complex tax issues related to real estate.
- You are highly skilled in communication, public speaking, research, and writing.
- You are capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines efficiently.
- You excel in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office and adapt quickly to new software.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Benefits and Compensation:
We offer a competitive and equitable compensation package, with salary ranges from $95,000 to $210,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. Additional benefits include generous PTO, comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision), 401(k) with profit sharing, life and disability insurance, a lifestyle spending account, incentives for certifications, educational assistance, and a referral program.
