TITLE: ControllerREPORTS TO: CFOPosition, Scope and Purpose:The controller assists in the fair presentation of the financial statements of the company, implements controls to ensure compliance, and completes the activities necessary to accomplish these goals. They will control cash and factory receivables along with reserves and Finance Product remittance and product cancelations.Primary Responsibilities:Ensure bank deposits are made and recorded on a daily basis (includes ACH, wire transfers, etc)Reconcile all bank accounts dailyRevise/post monthly standard entries by the 15th of the monthMaintain fixed asset schedules to ensure they agree with related general ledger accountsWork with office staff to ensure they complete assignments on a timely, consistent basisPrepare reports as requested by management company and/or department managersPrepare tax reports on timely basis (i.e. sales tax, tire disposal tax, lease tax, tangible personal property taxes, etc.)On a timely & accurate basis, complete end of month proceduresComplete accurate & timely reporting of all financial statements as required by the franchisor & management company each monthEnsure that all accounting schedules are reviewed and properly maintained on a monthly basisEnsure that all account reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis (i.e. floor plan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer's statements, accounts payable, etc.)Ensure all finance product sales documents are reported & paid on a timely basis each month (i.e. warranty, GAP policies, etc.)Ensure checks for accounts payable are mailed by the 15th of each monthMake recommendations to improve office operation efficiencyMeet with company managers on a weekly basis to review expenses, processing issues, status of outstanding contracts, vehicle receivables, accounts receivables, rebate/incentive receivables, etc.Assist CFO and dealership managers in preparing budgetsEnsure Monthly Parts accounts are reconciled and given to the CFOEnsure Monthly Physical inventories are performed and given to the CFO and Variable Operations DirectorEnsure that title work is processed accurately & timelyEnsure that vehicle inventory is stocked in daily as receivedEnsure that vehicle sales, service, parts & body shop sales are processed daily & posted to accountingReview outstanding repair orders (WIP) to verify they are being closed on a timely basis. Service department repair orders should not be open for more than 3 working days. Body shop tickets will require inquiry to determine status of the jobReview open parts tickets to verify they are being closed on a timely basis. Parts tickets should not be open more than 2 daysEach month have sales managers take physical inventory of vehicles and reconcile to general ledger.Ensure that monthly accounts receivable statements are mailed on a timely basis each month (includes inter-company) and timely collection of outstanding accountsEnsure WIP is reconciledBenefits include Health, Dental, 401K and supplemental InsuranceEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:Minimum of 5 years of experience as controller in automotive dealershipPrior experience with CDK DMS system including Payroll Plus is preferred Benefits of working as a Multi store Controller-Automotive in South Carolina:
