MRO Accountant Location Kinston, NC : Summary and Objective
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting all aspects of MRO accounting operations.
Essential functions

Participate in Monthly Close activities to include Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and prepare reports as needed
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Develop and/or improve financial processes
Assist with other critical projects as needed
Skills and Abilities:
Being a self-starter who is highly motivated with strong initiative
Interpersonal skills with an emphasis on strong communication skills in both oral and written forms
Understanding of General Ledger accounting, Accounts Receivable and Payable, Work in Process, Percentage of Completion, reconciliations
Bookkeeping
Effective time management
Attention to detail
Work independently with minimal supervision
Willing to learn
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with employees at all levels
Positive attitude and a strong desire to contribute as an essential member of the team
Competencies
Proficient in MS Office, Accounting software
Supervisory responsibilities

Work environment
Typical office and computer lab environment with frequent interruptions.
Exposure to loud noises including but not limited to airplane machinery and jet engines.

Ability to see and hear clearly
Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
Ability to regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds

Required education and experience
Minimum of 2 years relevant practical accounting experience.
Preferred education and experience
Bachelors degree in accounting preferred.
