Mortgage Operations Supervisor Location Hybrid remote in Denver, CO : Pay Range: $ 76,800.00 - $ 94,100.00 We offer a pay-for-performance compensation program including bonuses for all employees and a competitive benefits package. Remote Eligible: Yes/Hybrid General Purpose of the Position Supervises the day-to-day activities of the mortgage services department. Directs and coordinates activities of the Mortgage Services personnel. Responsible for assisting with the direction and administration of Mortgage Services department. May act as Mortgage Services Manager when necessary. Is responsible for training, coaching and the direction of Mortgage Services staff as needed. Assist all departments and branch locations on policy and procedures as they relate to Mortgage Services functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned
Analyzes credit worthiness including character, capacity, collateral, capital, and economic conditions. Reviews underwriting decisions with Mortgage Loan Underwriter, as needed, to ensure compliance with loan policy, including properly documented exceptions. Ensures Mortgage Loan Underwriter and Sr Mortgage Loan Underwriters evaluate applicant employment history, income including overtime, bonus, and commissions, borrower assets, borrower credit, and property condition meet Credit Union and/or Fannie Mae Guidelines. Ensures Mortgage Loan Processors are managing pipeline of loans and all activities involved with those loans throughout loan process. Assists in monitoring timeliness of loan pipeline and provides support when necessary Process mortgage loans from applications received; submitting to underwriting, clearing conditions and obtaining final approval. Ensures timely receipt and proper completion of all documents in accordance with established procedures; organizes documentation in established file order for underwriter review Deliver clean, complete and accurate files to both underwriting and closing. Ensure pricing and fees are accurately reflected on each transaction and obtain and review all necessary appraisals, title and tax certificates, credit documents, mortgage insurance, flood and hazard insurance, HOA certificates, subordination agreements and other documents as required Create new loan servicing strategies to align with a constantly changing regulatory environment Update servicing system with changes or modifications Manage, review and implement new loan set-up/first payment process and procedure Reconciles and balances mortgage area general ledger accounts on a daily and monthly basis Process all tax and insurance payments for 1st Mortgage Loans Perform annual escrow analysis on all 1st Mortgage Loans Manage non-escrow and escrow accounts for property taxes, homeowners and flood insurance and mortgage insurance Reviews and analysis various reports to ensure compliance with credit union and vendor guidelines Process loan payoff and review and set-up new loans Positively lead quality improvement process to ensure that all actions are driven by positive member care initiatives Coaches and leads staff in all mortgage department processes including; processing, underwriting, closing, funding, and servicing loans to the highest quality levels Participates in mortgage teams for quality control, underwriting compliance, and policy and procedure updates Monitors escrow analysis process for escrow administration function Directs the daily activities and duties of mortgage processing staff Acts as primary liaison between mortgage investors, and other related vendors Reviews and recommends improved operating policies and procedures and ensures the proper implementation and maintenance or approved changes Reviews audits and provides input on procedures necessary to cure deficiencies. Complies with all quality control requirements of HUD, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and other regulatory agencies in the direction of the processing staff and their business development efforts Support department and verify that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and audit standards to control processes to improve effectiveness. Recommends enhancements and additional services to increase Mortgage products and member satisfaction Monitors loan pricing and other competitive factors in the marketplace Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC. May act as Mortgage Services Manager as needed Responsible for compliance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Anti Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for such illegal activity as it applies to this position. Conduct interviews and provides recommendation for employment and/or promotion with support of Human Resources Team Promotes employee development through effective planning, verbal and written communications, and cross-training. Track individual progress and conducts performance appraisals. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed. Support individuals with development plans and professional goals. Partner with other departments and branches to create a quality member experience. Monitor productivity and service quality of Lending Call staff for handling of all mortgage and consumer loan applications to ensure consultative conversations for member best interest. Analyze metrics and make recommendations for changes and improvements to lending call staff to ensure best results for member and organization. Review and respond to member surveys regarding the credit union experience. Oversees department security and responsibilities during hours of operations. Facilitate department, team, and one on one meetings; coaching; and huddles to communicate policies and procedures, business goals, training, organization updates, and individual/team metrics. Independently demonstrates problem solving skills to effectively resolve member and employee concerns and issues. Other duties as requested or assigned. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to four years related supervisory and/or mortgage experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong mortgage product underwriting, servicing, and management experience Payment processing, custodial account reconciliation, payoff and month end remittance Experience in a management role within residential mortgage loan servicing specifically with Fannie Mae Knowledge of tax disbursement and servicing requirements Extensive understanding of investor (FNMA/FHLMC) and mortgage insurance guidelines relating to servicing first mortgage loans Ability to organize and lead a team of staff in identifying issues, creating and implementing solutions to routine and non-routine department needs, as well as work independently. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to operate standard office machines, PC and CRT. Knowledge of Regulation B, Regulation Z, and the secondary mortgage market. Ability to apply oral and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to sit for long periods. The employee continually is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to [10] pounds.
