**Job Summary:**
As a Mortgage Customer Service Specialist, you will play a key role in identifying and resolving customer service issues. Your responsibilities will include providing operational feedback to address the root causes of problems, ensuring customer satisfaction, and eliminating the need for call escalation.
**Essential Functions (Responsibilities):**
- Respond to first-level support questions from customers.
- Provide necessary support and assurance to customers that they will be served by knowledgeable mortgage specialists.
- Utilize technology systems to consistently follow up and document problem resolutions.
- Maintain customer records and update account information.
- Resolve customer service problems by determining the cause, explaining the best solution, and ensuring resolution.
- Communicate with and serve customers via phone, email, and letter.
- Exercise awareness regarding possible suspicious activity and report incidents to the appropriate department.
- Perform all job functions in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
**Required Qualifications:**
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
**Equivalent Education/Experience:**
- High School Diploma.
- At least 1 year of related customer service experience.
- Preferred experience in a call center environment and mortgage banking.
**Special Job Dimensions:**
This role involves spending 70% of the time answering customer calls and ensuring one-call resolution.
