Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aviation as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aviation, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Role Summary/PurposeThe Electronic Analyzer & Tester's primary duty is to ensure that military and commercial avionics products perform their specifications in a satisfactory manner. Responsibilities include administering standardized functional and environmental tests and troubleshooting from a system level down to component level.Essential Responsibilities:Understand and follow test specifications and proceduresEnsure product compliance and qualityTroubleshoot electronics systems, circuit card assemblies, and componentsPrescribe rework instructions for products needing repairMaintain product test records in quality data tracking systemAttend and participate in team meetingsQualifications/Requirements:Associate degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university or college ORHigh School Diploma / GED with two years of technical experience in testing and troubleshooting of highly technical electronic products which could include military electronics experience (i.e. A school, I level depo technician)Must be active military personnelEligibility Requirement:Able and willing to complete and pass the pre employment electronic principle's test, covering but not limited to such subjects as component identification and digital and analog circuit analysisDesired Characteristics:Possess a thorough understanding of analog and digital circuitsExperienced with general purpose test instruments (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, phase angle voltmeters and automated test equipment)Able to fault isolate electronics to the component levelExperienced in functional testing and environmental stress screening of class 3 electronics systemsAble to follow technical procedures and specificationsAble to read and understand technical documentation such as schematic diagrams and parts listsExperience using hand tools for electronics disassembly and troubleshooting.Knowledge of IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specificationsBasic understanding of embedded softwareFamiliar with Electric Static Discharge precautionsAbility to work under minimum supervision by being motivated and a self-starterKeen attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and PDF Viewers.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
