Job Description SummaryThe Military Controls Executive will report to the Executive Director of Sciences Engineering and will provide leadership and oversight for quality engineering design, execution, and product safety for GE products and services. In this critical role this individual will also provide leadership and technical direction, influence customer requirements and clearly communicate and execute on customer commitmentsJob DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Ongoing/recurring presence in K5 and or other similar cleared facilities for both employee and customer interfaceProvide leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnelWork collaboratively across product lines and across disciplines and organizationsPromote technical excellence within own section and support groups through design/technical review participation, lessons learned awareness and application, DFR/DFSS, and technical innovation/growth fosteringEstablish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achievedEstablish / modify / monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of section and support groups to meet / exceed business objectives and goalsEffectively communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organizationEnsure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skillsCreate robust engagement strategy and operating rhythmsEnsure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implementedImplement initiatives to continuously improve responsiveness of the section / organization to customer / business needsQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university8 years of technical leadership experienceMust be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearanceDesired Characteristics:Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or collegePrior experience with a focus on managing multiple technical programs and designing and developing new products related to solving product issuesExperience in Controls Systems engineeringBe a change agent capable of influencing at all organizational levelsStrong business acumen and customer mindsetStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate changeStrong ability to work in multi-business environment and develop technology synergy and roadmapStrong demonstrated team-based skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to work across all functions / levels as part of a teamAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong coaching expertise and success in collaborating across the business functions, other GE businesses, and the global teamsAdditional Qualifications:Lean, process improvement experienceThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
