The Opportunity The Episcopal Academy is seeking a middle school science teacher to join our 16-person, grades 6-12 Science Department for the ******** school year. Our ideal candidate will deeply understand how to approach problem-based learning. We seek a collaborative team player excited to be part of a vibrant department dedicated to a new approach to teaching science, committed to building and sustaining inclusive learning spaces, and invested in continued growth as a scientist and educator.

You're deeply committed to working with all students, particularly in these middle grades, and believe in the immense potential of all children. You're a team player who recognizes the value of diverse perspectives. You're a strong communicator, capable of connecting with students, parents, and colleagues in meaningful ways. You're passionate about Science, and about inspiring the scientific curiosity in all of your students. You are familiar with the guided inquiry approach to teaching science, which places the student at the forefront of investigation and discovery. You're open to various assessment strategies where the student is at the center and application of knowledge is an essential outcome. Bonus points for experience and facility with LMSs, Google Suite, science-specific lab simulation sites; and research in a specific science field. A sense of humor is always welcome.
