Job Summary Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Security Engineering, the M365 Security Engineer will be responsible for and play a crucial role in assessing and advising on the infrastructure security of our Microsoft cloud environment as well as related platforms, software, and configurations. This position will be held within the CISO Office of Compass Group NA.

The M365 Security Engineer will work with internal departments, security vendors, and security staff to enhance the overall security strategy to support Compass Group's goals of reducing risk, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards, best practices, and alignment with security control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted advisor for security related questions and concerns. Must be able to perform advisory functions and support a wide range of Security technologies including, but not limited to: Entra ID, Defender, Active Directory, PowerApps, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Autopilot, Sharepoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Zscaler, Proofpoint, Crowdstrike, and SIEM. Provide guidance and configuration best-practices for Microsoft 365-related services and configurations  Enhance security for networks, applications, and cloud-based systems Assist with mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and threats Document security configurations and processes, including existing controls and potential enhancements Integrate, maintain, and continuously improve security toolsets to maximize performance, visibility, alerting and monitoring Perform regular audits of security configurations, controls, and adherence to cloud architecture standards Develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards and best practices Provide general guidance and subject matter expertise on security controls and best practices Participate in incident response activities as needed Participate in projects sponsored by Security, technology, and business teams Collaborate with security team members as well as other teams as needed to assess and address security requirements for cloud projects and initiatives Continually stay informed of evolving security standards, industry knowledge, actively share knowledge, and foster exchange of skills and information Responsibility for any other tasks as directed and at the discretion of management Qualifications and Experience Act as a trusted advisor for security related questions and concerns.
