Responsibilities
• Provide metallurgical engineering expertise for development of complex implantable medical devices and technology• Process and evaluate medical device materials• Identify and drive technology development projects• Build and maintain strong relationships• Support time sensitive manufacturing needs• Solve technical challenges and perform research• Work closely with design teams and other engineers• Engage with external partners• Location: Flagstaff, AZ• Possible hybrid remote work arrangement
Requirements
• Advanced Degree in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or related discipline• Minimum 5 years experience in the medical device industry with an advanced degree or minimum 7 years experience with a Bachelor's degree• Hands-on experience with NiTiNOL testing• Subject Matter Expert in NiTiNOL properties• Familiarity with medical device prototyping and manufacturing• Understanding of metallurgical principles• Demonstrated problem-solving capability• Strong written and oral communication skills• Ability to work in team and independent settings• Ability to travel up to 10%
