The Chemical Biology team is seeking 2 co-ops to join us at our company's Cambridge Research site in our mission to understand novel biology and identify new therapeutic targets in collaboration with Oncology, Immunology, Metabolic Disease, Neuroscience, and Infectious Disease discovery teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for BS, MS, and PhD level individuals with imaging, cell biology, and/or molecular biology experience to learn & execute key techniques including primary and cell line culture, genetic manipulations imaging, and assay development for various readouts including qPCR, western blot, ELISA, imaging, and flow cytometry. We are seeking 2 co-op candidates with strong academic performance, communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to work in a multi-functional environment. Co-ops will have the opportunity to specialize in CRISPR methods (1) or Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Super-Resolution Microscopy (2).
Locations: Cambridge, MA
Co-op position commitment: 6 months starting in June or July 2024
Minimum Qualifications Must be currently enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student in biological sciences, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field
3.2 GPA
Candidates must be eligible to work in the US
Candidates must have a basic knowledge of cell biology
Experience in mammalian cell culture is required
For candidates interested in super-resolution microscopy, prior imaging experience is required.
Candidates must have a strong desire to develop knowledge of drug discovery, microscopy, and cell-based assays and be willing to take initiative to learn new science
Preferred Qualifications Experience in confocal or super-resolution microscopy, image analysis, immunofluorescence, or advanced fluorescence microscopy is desirable.
Strong, collaborative team player
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Comfortable using a PC computer and proficient in Windows-based operating systems and basic applications, such as spreadsheets and databases
