This means that we help members meet a fitness or ability goal, see that children thrive in our child care programs, encourage family togetherness, and give youth an opportunity to learn life skills through water safety, sports, and teen programming.The Mill Creek YMCA is looking for a Membership Engagement Lead to join our team!We are looking for someone who has full availability, but is specifically able to work evenings and weekends. We are also looking for this Lead to be able to commit to 15-25 hours (3-5 shifts) per week.Position Summary:Deliver quality service to our diverse members, guests, and program participants. Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs, maintain cleanliness and organization of the Welcome Center and other areas of the facility. Provide direction for the Welcome Center and staff. May create staff schedules and provide department administrative support as needed.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Model and provide quality service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member engagement and retentionComprehensive knowledge of sales cycle (introduction/probing/close)Address and resolve membership concernsApply all YMCA policies, practices and procedures ensuring a positive member experienceRespond to emergency situationsHand out and launder towels; monitor the locker rooms and adhere to other safety guidelinesEnsure proper implementation of Welcome Center proceduresTrain member engagement representatives to effectively and accurately use constituent softwareReview, update, and relay branch information to staffCoordinate with the business office as necessary on financial transactionsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum age 18Strong interpersonal and problem solving skillsAbility to coach and lead staffBasic computer skills/knowledge requiredFluency in second language desiredY Culture:Build relationships with a diverse membership base in culturally responsive ways, connect members with one another and to the YMCAExhibit Caring, Honesty, Respect and ResponsibilityComplete required training and certifications within established guidelinesArrive on time ready for shift, clock in/out within timekeeping systemEmbrace Team Leader Core Competencies:Mission Advancement:Models and teaches the Ys valuesEnsures a high level of service with a commitment to improving livesProvides volunteers with orientation, training, development, and recognitionCultivates relationships to support fundraisingCollaboration:Champions inclusion activities, strategies, and initiativesBuilds relationships to create small communitiesEmpathetically listens and communicates for understanding when negotiating and dealing with conflictEffectively tailors communications to the appropriate audienceProvides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and supportOperational Effectiveness:Provides others with frameworks for making decisionsConducts prototypes to support the launching of programs and activitiesDevelops plans and manages best practices through engagement of teamEffectively creates and manages budgetsHolds staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progressPersonal Growth:Shares new insightsFacilitates change; models adaptability and an awareness of the impact of changeUtilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performanceHas the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technologyPhysical and Mental Demands: The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
