What is the Medication Tech/CMA experience? In this role you will be under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services and Supervisory Nurse. You will be expected to:
Administer prescribed medications to residents using approved methods, including various routes such as oral, topical, and inhalant. Obtain resident vital signs and report abnormalities, when necessary. Utilize the "6 Rights/3 Checks" protocol. Accurately document medication administration in residents' electronic charts and eMAR. Calibrate capillary blood glucose (CBG) machines; obtain and document CBG readings. Perform and document a narcotic count at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies. Ensure timely medication orders and assume leadership duties when needed in the absence of the Charge Nurse. Other duties as assigned. What are the job qualifications? High school diploma or GED required. Three years preferred experience as a Resident Assistant/Caregiver or CNA. Experience dispensing medications in Assisted Living, Residential Care Facility, or Long-Term Care setting preferred. Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid. Maintain Food Handler's Card. Able to read, write, and document appropriately. Must be detail oriented. Strong interpersonal skills. Able to prioritize multi-demands using initiative, good judgment, and a professional attitude. Must consent to and pass a criminal background check. What benefits are offered? Pay range: $18.75 - $25.00, depending on experience + Shift Differentials Medical, Dental, Vision, Insurance, along with optional Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to employees working full-time hours.
