Job summary
The MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER provides social case work and prepares social histories for clients and their families who receive healthcare services.The medical social worker performs psychosocial assessments, develops action plans, and provides rehabilitative and supportive casework.The goal is to restore patients to an optimum level of social and health adjustment.

Responsibilities
• Comply with ATC policies/procedures and client facility policies/procedures.• Document accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.• Provide non-judgmental patient care that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness.• Assist patients and their families in resolving social issues related to illness and rehabilitation.• Coordinate services and referrals with community agencies.• Maintain competency through continuing education programs and professional standards of conduct.
Requirements
• Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.• Must have current and unrestricted licensure to practice as a Medical Social Worker.• Must pass health and other screening tests required by specific facilities.• Must maintain compliance with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards set forth by the National Association of Social Workers.
