Medical Records Technician The Medical Records Technician p rovides clerical and administrative support for the Medical Records and Program Integrity (PI) Departments. 
In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting CoventBridge Group's objective: To provide services to our clients that exceed their expectations and contribute to improved healthcare delivery by identifying and eliminating fraud, waste and abuse.
This position will report directly to the Medical Records Manager, and will work in our Grove City, OH office.
Responsibilities: Receive, process, and sort incoming medical records from USPS, FedEx, UPS, Fax, CD, flash drives, emails and assigned drives Open and correctly route all medical record receipts in accordance with distribution and workload processes Process all incoming medical records and sort beneficiary information Scan records, upload CDs and other electronic media into the processing system Validate each batch and perform quality checks per medical records procedure Prepare and send completed records to offsite storage Retrieve records from storage for managers, clinical supervisors, report lists, and as directed by the Medical Records Manager Assist with QC processes or other tasks as assigned by the Medical Records Manager Monitor Program Integrity Mailing requests in UPICMW_MailRequest inbox Fulfil PI Mailing requests, quality check requests to ensure HIPAA compliant handling of Protected Health Information (PHI), and respond with confirmation of mailing to requestor Maintain a neat, organized work area Attend required education and training programs Comply with departmental policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Records Manager Requirements: Prefer 6 months' experience in handling PHI and medical records in a HIPAA compliant environment Knowledge of HIPAA compliant medical record processing/procedures Keen attention to detail Must be able to lift and move boxes repetitively weighing up to 40 pounds Familiar with Microsoft systems including Word and Excel Ability to work with others in a team environment Familiar with department required equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, scanners) Ability to perform record imaging after training Record filing and retrieval Educational Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. Medical, Dental, Vision plans Life, LTD and STD paid by the employer 401(k) with company match up to 4% Paid Time Off and company paid holidays Tuition assistance after 1 year of service The salary range for this role is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
