Medical Records Clerk

High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum one-year medical records experience. Familiarity with the Problem Oriented Medical Record (SOAP) system essential. Retrieve medical charts for all healthcare staff or clinicians as requested. File daily all in use medical records. Secure all active and inactive medical records. Assure that charts are counter-signed by Physician, check charts for completeness. Release information at the direction of the Medical Records Supervisor, Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. Answer the telephone, take messages and make telephone calls. Type letters, reports and memorandums. Maintain a roster or appointment book for all scheduled patient appointments both on and off-site. Order, receive and maintain office supplies.
