Kansas Neurological Institute The Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI) is an intermediate care facility offering support to approximately 130 residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. KNI practices a person-centered philosophy to support our residents so they can have the quality of life they deserve by recognizing their individuality, honoring their choices, protecting and maintaining their health, helping to build and maintain their relationships with others, and making sure that they are included in every aspect of their lives; in their homes, in their jobs, and in the community.
KNI has 19 homes with direct support staff assisting with daily living activities in each home throughout four buildings and is located on a large campus, east of the VA hospital in Topeka. KNI is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation.
About the Position: The Medical Records Clerk Position is responsible for assisting in the management of both physical and electronic medical records/information following Federal and State of Kansas statutes and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, GINA, and HITECH, KNI Policy and Procedure as well as KDADS records retention guidelines.
Compensation/Other Information: Hourly Pay Range: Starting at $12.98/hour (with a additional 24/7 State Facility differential of $1.50/hr for every hour worked) Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm (Flexible) Unclassified Part-time
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Six months of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Must be detail oriented and able to maintain data accuracy and privacy. Preferred Qualifications: One year of healthcare or records experience (education may substituted for experience.)
