Medical Credentialing Specialist

We are currently seeking a dedicated Credentialing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless completion of both initial credentialing and re-credentialing processes for providers within our network. Our ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the accuracy and compliance of our credentialing databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update credentialing databases to ensure accuracy and completeness of provider information.
Offer support to various teams including network staff, providers, contract services, marketing, and medical affairs.
Ensure adherence to external review organization standards and delegation agreements.
Conduct thorough initial and re-credentialing processes for providers/practitioners, meticulously documenting credentialing information.
Perform primary verification of state licensure, state/federal controlled substance certification, educational and/or residency background, malpractice coverage/history, hospital privileges, and previous sanctions.
Keep credentialing database and HCS data files up-to-date with relevant network indicators and effective dates.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
