As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless processing of insurance claims, contributing to the efficient operation of our healthcare services. Your responsibilities will include meticulous review of claims, collaborating with various stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records to facilitate timely billing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Claims Processing: Ensure the timely and accurate submission of insurance claims, meticulously reviewing and updating denied claims for resubmission.
Patient Interaction: Collaborate with patients to confirm their demographic and insurance information, providing assistance in understanding their benefits related to clinic services.
Documentation Management: Obtain necessary medical documentation from clinicians for insurance review and prior authorization of treatment, maintaining detailed records in our systems.
Billing Administration: Update and maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other systems with accurate patient information and treatment details, preparing electronic claim files for submission.
Claim Monitoring: Monitor the status of claims, promptly updating and resubmitting as required to minimize delays in billing processes.
Charge Capture: Perform daily charge capture functions, ensuring accurate entry of charges into the EMR platform.
Reconciliation: Reconcile charges with daily schedules to ensure all services provided are accurately billed each month.
Financial Management: Assist in resolving credit balances, preparing statements for outstanding patient balances, and maintaining appropriate billing practices in accordance with clinic policies.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
1-2 years of medical billing experience in a clinic or physician practice setting.
Familiarity with CPT code sets, modifiers, and medical billing platforms utilized in clinic settings.
