The Community Health Center of Niagara, is searching for Medical Assistants to join our team. The Medical Assistant performs clerical and clinical functions that assist in the provision of care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician.

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, HHA, PCA or CNA preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities: General: Adheres to agency policies and procedures regarding confidentialityParticipates in quality improvement activitiesCommunicates effectively with patients and staffMaintains a professional manner in interacting with patients and staffAdheres to infection control principlesParticipates in and contributes to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities and functions as needed.Specific: Maintains clean, safe, orderly work environmentPerforms clerical duties to maintain efficient patient flowPrepares patients for examinations and proceduresPrepares rooms for examinations and proceduresAssists providers with examinations and proceduresPerforms routine diagnostic testsCollects and processes specimensMaintains supplies for patient roomsMaintains equipment according to agency policyMaintains the integrity of the medical recordMaintains documentation in logs as appropriateProvides patient educationRecognizes emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnelRegular attendance is requiredAttends meetings as requiredPerforms other relevant duties as assigned or requestedPhysical Demands: Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Evening work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Nursing or Medical Assistant Diploma. Three (3) years' experience. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant diploma. Five (5) years' experience in an ambulatory setting. Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistant.
