Position Overview:
As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will play a vital role in our healthcare team by providing both administrative and clinical support under the guidance of physicians and managers. You will handle various administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and billing, while also assisting with clinical duties including recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and administering medications as directed by physicians. Embracing our mission and vision, you will contribute to the delivery of chronic care, collaborative care, and remote patient monitoring services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the clinic.
Document all patient interactions, treatments, and phone calls accurately.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Maintain a professional and tidy appearance.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
Assist in preparing patients for appointments and examinations.
Assist colleagues and cover duties as needed.
Review medications and allergies with attention to detail.
Clean and sanitize exam rooms after each visit.
Perform venipuncture and obtain lab specimens as required.
Record vital signs and other relevant patient information.
Address patient inquiries and requests promptly.
Facilitate specialist appointments and referrals.
Document immunizations and medications administered accurately.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as assigned.
Support colleagues and supervisors in achieving organizational goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of clerical or administrative experience.
Familiarity with healthcare terminology, regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunization records required.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
