Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Assistant to join a healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the medical center. You will work under the guidance of the Center Operations Director, providing essential medical care to patients while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities: As a Medical Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Patient Care: Welcome patients and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Obtain and update patient medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Verify patient information to ensure accuracy in medical records. Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and medical treatments. Perform ancillary tests and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director, including but not limited to pulmonary function tests (PFT), electrocardiograms (EKG), injections, audiograms, and blood draws. Administer medications within the scope of practice, as prescribed by treating providers, and in compliance with state regulations. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans. Ensure all patient data and documentation are handled with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA). Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated patient care. Assist the front office team with administrative tasks and patient scheduling as needed. Requirements: Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) license/certification. Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) license/certification in Washington (WA). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Proficiency in performing phlebotomy, injections, urinalysis, and taking vital signs. Willingness to undergo training and certification in Drug & Alcohol Screening if not already certified.
