ResponsibilitiesThis role intends to comprehensively support both Lab Operations and scientists, with an emphasis on inventory and asset management, to drive the successful, cutting-edge biotech company. You will have ownership and influence in the following:Prepare media, buffers, reagents, and plates for sterile application at a high scaleWork with scientific teams and Lab Operations to ensure critical items are never out of stockDesign and conduct QC processes to ensure prepared items are functionalMaintain glass- and plastic-ware sterilizationWork with science and engineering teams to develop optimal workflows and infrastructureCommunicate with lab team to stay apprised of dynamically changing formulations and logistical systemsAssist Lab Ops in implementing and maintaining all operations-related tasks and systemsMaintain a clean and orderly environment in personal and shared workspacesMaintain critical equipment functionality and sterility on a weekly basisFollow all safety guidelines strictly at all timesSupporting scientists in pipetting, measuring, and timed assay proceduresPrepare and weigh samples for testing and analysis Conduct assays, tests, and other protocols under the direction of a Laboratory Manager, Research Associate or ScientistRequired Skills and BackgroundInterest in working in a biotechnology R&D labHigh organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, withthe ability to interface with all levels of the organization with professionalismAbility to handle multiple requests, work in a fast-paced environment, and be responsiveto employee requests/service issuesProactive approach to identifying problems and problem-solving independently and collaborativelyCapable of working hands-on and lift up to 30 pounds on a daily basisTypically requires at least 2 years of related experiencePreferred Skills Experience with Quartzy, Benchling, and/or other laboratory softwareExperience doing R&D experiments at the benchFamiliarity with laboratory workflowsKnowledge of simple dilution calculationsExperience working with sterile techniqueExperience preparing buffers and mediaUnderstanding of concepts like pH, salinity, and buffer capacity.Proven experience as Media Technician or relevant positionExperience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)Excellent physical condition and enduranceWorking knowledge of Google Workspace and database systemsAbility to work autonomously and under pressureBachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or relevant field is a plusThe hourly range for this position is anticipated to be $24.00/hr. - $35.00/hr., however the base pay offered may vary depending on location, market, job related knowledge, skills and experience.
