Job summary
Acuren Inspection is seeking a Mechanical Testing Technician to support laboratory operations.The technician will perform various tests and evaluations according to written instructions.Minimum 3 years of experience in a materials laboratory setting or materials-related field.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Perform Room Temperature, Elevated Temperature, and Stress Rupture Tests.• Review and report tensile and stress rupture data.• Receipt and final inspection of test specimens.• Fabrication of thermocouples.• Read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.• Carry out oral and written work instructions with safety.• Provide support to laboratory operations.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a materials laboratory setting or materials-related field.• Current qualification in Room Temperature Testing, Elevated Temperature Testing, and/or Stress Rupture Testing would be considered an asset.• Knowledge in heat treating practice and theory.• Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings.• Excellent organizational skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.• Ability to safely carry out oral and written work instructions.
